Veteran interior designer and former actress Zarine Khan, wife of actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan and mother of Sussanne Khan and Zayed Khan, passed away on 7 November 2025 in Mumbai at the age of 81 due to age-related health issues.
Born Zarine Katrak, she appeared in films like Tere Ghar Ke Saamne and Ek Phool Do Mali before turning to interior design and publishing a cookbook. Her legacy spans film, design and family heritage.
Her funeral followed Hindu rites, reflecting her Parsi heritage and inter-faith family background. The Bollywood community paid tribute, with stars such as Hrithik Roshan among those offering condolences.
Zarine Khan is survived by her husband Sanjay Khan and four children. Her passing marks the end of an era for a matriarch whose influence bridged generations of Indian cinema and design.
