Aas Mohammad Ansari, also known as Munna, was a 24-year-old resident of Pipal Wala Mohalla in Muzaffarnagar district, UP, working as an assistant to a property dealer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He had married his cousin Sania, 21, earlier in April 2025. The couple had a dispute two days before the incident. On Sunday evening, during a video call with Sania (who was in Muzaffarnagar), Aas Mohammad took the extreme step; his wife tried to shout for help, but was unable to intervene from such a distance. His brother and uncle, both also in Riyadh, rushed to his accommodation after being alerted but found him already dead.
The family, now grieving, is struggling to arrange Rs 4 lakh needed for the repatriation of his body back to India. They have approached local political representatives for assistance; Muzaffarnagar MP Harender Malik stated they had contacted the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia, and help was being provided to the family with direct monitoring of the case.
