India maintains amicable relations with both Israel and Iran. However, India is in a precarious position now. In the recent conflict with Pakistan, India reportedly utilized various Israeli-origin weapons and it also it values its historical and cultural connections with Iran
For India, the fallout is serious. Over 10,000 Indians live in Iran, many in the medical sector or on religious visits to Qom. Evacuations are underway under Operation Sindhu, with over 1,000 people brought back so far. The Indian embassy has issued helpline numbers and is urging citizens to relocate from high-risk areas.
India also has ties with Israel, where around 20,000 Indian caregivers work and more are expected to be sent soon. Any escalation risks the safety of Indian nationals in both countries.
India’s energy concerns are equally pressing. A significant portion of its oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz, near Iran. While India has increased imports from Russia and the U.S., a blockade could impact energy security.
New Delhi has called for restraint and diplomacy. With nationals on both sides, and trade and oil routes in the mix, India has a lot at stake. The government remains on alert as the situation unfolds.
Bahrain and Kuwait are bracing for possible spillover from the Israel–Iran conflict. Bahrain has advised residents to avoid main roads and asked 70% of government employees to work from home, while Kuwait has activated shelters in government complexes amid security concerns linked to U.S. military presence in both countries.
