June 21 is International Yoga Day and it is becoming more majestic and impressive with the participation of millions of people across the world.
The city of New York was covered with different shades of Yoga as the world celebrated the practise of yoga that aims to achieve happiness through health.
Hundreds of people at the in the lawns of UN headquarters gathered to embrace the holistic practice. Yoga enthusiasts including diplomats, UN officials and staff rolled out their Yoga mats in the lawns
Conducted by the famous Art Of Living, the event also featured common Yoga protocol sessions and an advanced Yoga demonstrations
In December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga. The resolution was proposed by India and supported by a record 175 member states, recognising the universal appeal of the practice.

On Saturday, Central Park hosted thousands to UPLIFTNY25. It was an event focussed on Yoga and celebration of healing and community connection.
Throughout the day on June 21, thousands of New Yorkers gathered at Rumsey Playfield to gain benefit of Yoga. The sessions were not only focused on Yoga but sone were there on the philosophy of good life and work-life balance. VOIWORLD spoke to Yoga enthusiast and philosopher Trilok Malik who is a successful businessman linked to film and cinema industry and who held a session at the Central Park Yoga event

Consul General of India to New York, Binaya S Pradhan delivered a speech at the event
Led by philanthropist Meera Gandhi and organized by The Giving Back Foundation, UPLIFTNY25 is co-presented by the Mayor’s Office of Sports, Wellness and Recreation and the Consulate General of India in New York.
