Bollywood stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna served as Grand Marshals at the 43rd India Day Parade in New York on Monday, an event considered the largest Independence Day celebration outside India. The pair led the vibrant procession, delighting fans with their presence and greeting the crowd warmly. A clip of them briefly holding hands during the parade went viral, capturing widespread attention and joy.
Earlier, Vijay Deverakonda posted a video on Instagram showing the Empire State Building lit in India’s tricolour, calling it an “absolute honour” to light up such an iconic symbol. The vibrant display underscored the celebratory mood of the occasion.
Both actors are currently juggling major film projects. Vijay has upcoming movies with Mythri Movie Makers, tentatively titled ‘VD14’, and another with Sri Venkateswara Creations, called ‘SVC 59’. Rashmika is set to star in the emotional action thriller “Mysaa,” portraying a woman from the Gond community, as well as “The Girlfriend,” a highly anticipated entertainer directed by Rahul Ravindran and produced by Ajay and Anil Sayyapureddy.
Their roles as Grand Marshals added star power and warmth to the parade, blending their cinematic popularity with cultural pride during a global tribute to India’s Independence Day.
