A British national and her lover were found guilty by an India’s Shahjahanpur court of killing her husband seven years ago. The development comes from Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur, where the court found the two guilty based on the testimony of Ramandeep’s nine-year-old son.
On September 2, 2016, Ramandeep Kaur Mann, a citizen of the UK, killed her husband Sukhjeet Singh with the assistance of her childhood friend Gurpreet Singh. Ramandeep, her husband, and their two children, ages six and nine, prepared for a month-long family holiday in Uttar Pradesh. She lured the two guys to Shahjahanpur, where she poisoned the entire family before slicing her husband’s throat. Gurpreet is a native of Kapurthala, Punjab. Her nine-year-old son was the only one who avoided the contaminated dal-rice that evening and survived.
Ramandeep Kaur (the wife of the late Sukhjeet Singh) was found guilty by additional District and Sessions Judge Pankaj Kumar Srivastava. Her accomplice, Gurpreet Singh, was also found guilty and given a life sentence as well as a fine of Rs 3 lakh imposed on him. The court also held Gurpreet guilty under the Arms Act and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment along with imposing a fine of Rs 10,000.
In 2002, Basantapur resident Sukhjeet Singh travelled to England in search of employment. There, he made friends with Derby native Ramandeep Kaur. Sukhjeet obtained a driver’s job before marrying Ramandeep in 2005. Sukhjeet, Ramandeep, and their sons travelled to Shahjahanpur on July 28, 2016, for a holiday.
During the hearing, Arjun told the court that he was sleeping with his father when his mother smothered her husband with a pillow. Then, Gurpreet hit Sukhjeet with a hammer on his head. After that, Gurpreet took out a knife from his pocket and gave it to Ramandeep, who slit the throat of Sukhjeet.
