At Sounds of Hanuman – Chapter 1 (Delhi), a panel discussion brought together diverse spiritual and intellectual voices to reframe how today’s generation experiences faith with a discussion on Hanuman Ji.
The Panelists included: Bhawna Upadhyay — Vedic Astrologer, T. Anand Mahesh — Spiritual Author [Unlocking the Wisdom of the Ramayana, The Infinite Hanuman (upcoming)], Jyoti Kalash— Former IAS Officer & Devotional Writer, Kapil Ji Pujari (Salasar) — Spiritual Guide, Bhavya Srivastava — Founder, Religion World and Sonal Talwar — Co-Founder, RTIST91 (Moderator).
The conversation focused on attributes such as courage, focus, and inner strength in relations to Hanuman ji. The panel made one point unmistakably clear: Hanuman is not mythology locked in the past, but a possibility that exists within each one of us.
One perspective that drew strong audience response came from spiritual author T. Anand Mahesh, who pointed to a fascinating cultural intersection in terms of the unmistakable influence of Hanuman ji’s Ashta Siddhis on Western popular culture. From Ant-Man’s ability to shrink (Anima) to the Hulk’s monumental size and strength (Mahima and Garima), Anand highlighted how Marvel’s superhero universe draws, knowingly or otherwise, from powers our scriptures have described for centuries.
Indian epics, he reminded us, remain a wellspring the world keeps returning to.
Anand is the author of Unlocking the Wisdom of the Ramayana, a work that bridges ancient Indian thought with contemporary life, and his next book, The Infinite Hanuman will be releasing this year.
He is a yoga practitioner who learnt under the guidance of an Art of Living teacher and deepened his yoga knowledge through formal study at the Sivananda Dhanwantri Ashram in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, one of India’s most respected centres for classical yoga and Ayurveda.
Beyond the mat, Anand is an amateur photographer and a SSI certified scuba diver.
