Tesla has appointed Sharad Agarwal as its new Country Head for India, marking a strategic step toward strengthening its presence in the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) market. Agarwal, who previously led Lamborghini India and briefly served as Chief Business Officer at Classic Legends, brings over a decade of experience in managing luxury automotive brands.

His appointment signals Tesla’s renewed focus on establishing strong local leadership and deepening its commitment to the Indian market. Agarwal is expected to drive Tesla’s premium EV strategy, oversee expansion of its retail and service networks, and strengthen engagement with regulators and infrastructure partners.
Under his leadership at Lamborghini, Agarwal successfully expanded the brand’s reach across India, capturing emerging demand from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This experience positions him well to guide Tesla in building brand visibility and trust among affluent Indian buyers while laying the foundation for wider market penetration in the future.

Industry experts believe Agarwal’s deep understanding of the luxury car segment and the Indian consumer mindset will help Tesla navigate local challenges, including high import tariffs and limited EV infrastructure. His appointment is also seen as a move to accelerate Tesla’s discussions on potential local manufacturing and government collaboration.

With Agarwal at the helm, Tesla is poised to sharpen its strategy, enhance customer experience, and strengthen its foothold in one of the world’s most promising EV markets.
