While speaking at EIA University in Colombia, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asserted that India’s democratic framework is facing a “wholesale attack” under the current administration. He urged Indians not to replicate “China’s authoritarian system,” and emphasized that India must protect its plural traditions and voices.
Gandhi’s remarks sparked immediate political scrutiny back home. The BJP responded sharply, labelling him a “leader of propaganda” and accusing him of tarnishing India’s image on foreign soil.
