PM Modi UAE UK talks focused on trade, energy, technology and regional security as the Indian Prime Minister held separate bilateral meetings with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France.

During talks with the UAE President, PM Modi reviewed the progress of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across key sectors. The leaders also underlined the importance of ensuring free and uninterrupted navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime route for global energy supplies and trade.

The discussion comes amid continued concerns over regional stability in West Asia and the impact of disruptions in shipping routes on global markets. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination on economic and strategic issues.

PM Modi also met UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to review bilateral relations and discuss the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) signed between the two countries last year. The leaders examined opportunities to expand cooperation in defence, technology, green energy and innovation.

According to statements released after the meeting, both sides discussed ways to add further momentum to India-UK relations, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, skill development and emerging technologies. They also exchanged views on developments in West Asia and Ukraine.

The meetings highlighted India’s continued diplomatic engagement with key strategic partners during the G7 Summit and reflected New Delhi’s focus on strengthening economic partnerships while addressing regional and global challenges. The PM Modi UAE UK talks are expected to support ongoing cooperation in trade, energy security and technology-driven growth.
