Indian PM Modi called for technology to benefit everyone and described artificial intelligence as “All Inclusive” while addressing VivaTech 2026, Europe’s biggest technology event, in Paris.
Speaking alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi said AI should improve lives, widen access and support economic growth rather than deepen inequalities. He also warned about the risks posed by unchecked AI, including deepfakes, misinformation and cyber fraud, and called for stronger global cooperation to address them.
Highlighting India’s approach to emerging technologies, PM Modi said the country believes innovation must be human-centric and accessible. He noted that India’s participation as the AI Country Partner at VivaTech reflected this vision.
The Prime Minister also pointed to the growing cooperation between India and France in areas such as artificial intelligence, startups, mobility, healthcare and sustainability. According to an Indian government readout, his participation is expected to strengthen ties between the two countries’ technology ecosystems.
Addressing members of the Indian community in Paris, PM Modi said India had witnessed transformative growth over the past 12 years, citing gains in exports, digital payments and mobile manufacturing. He said the country’s development journey was focused on empowering people and transforming lives.
PM Modi said 2026 marked a special year for India and Europe following the conclusion of the India-EU free trade agreement, adding that it would create new opportunities for trade and investment.
