On the 5 th and 6 th of July 2025, the International Conference on Traditional Medicine was held in the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kampar, Malaysia. First Secretary Dr. Vivekanand represented the High Commission of India Kuala Lampur at the event. The Conference and University Meet was also attended by a delegation of four experts representing India’s Ministry of Ayush, the government of India’s body for traditional medicine. Dr. Vivekanand emphasized and praised the shared commitment of India and Malaysia for healthcare collaboration, especially in the field of Ayurveda and other forms of traditional medicine.
The Chief guest was the Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Ministry of Health Malaysia, YB Dato; Indera Dr. Nor Azimi binti Yunus. She commended the organizers for bringing together experts from different forms of traditional medicine to discuss integration and cooperation between the two countries regarding the field of traditional medicine.
The High Commissioner, Mr. Bala Nand Reddy also interacted with Dr. Raman Meenakshi Sundaram, the Director of the Indian Institute of Rice Research-Indian Council of Agricultural Research, in the High Commission premises. They discussed about the potential for expanding cooperation in rice cultivation related research, capacity building and knowledge sharing between India and Malaysia.
