Indians are generally found nowadays in all big events. From big celebrity weddings to glitzy award functions, there are wealthy & intelligent Indians almost everywhere. But here is someplace they missed.
Even after being in the big tech circle, hardly any Indian or a person of Indian origin was visible at the most public and secretive wedding of the year.
The main event of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s three-day-long Venetian extravaganza culminated in a private ceremony on Friday. It was held on the secluded, historic San Giorgio Maggiore island in the San Marco sestiere.
Thousands of Indians work in the Silicon Valley in the U.S and a dozen have been in the inner circle of both celebrities. However the high-profile global Indians or PIOs were absent from this wedding.
200 members of the celebrity guest list, including the Kardashian-Jenner family, Bill Gates, Karlie Kloss, Oprah Winfrey and Usher who were all photographed stepping onto water taxis to ferry them to the festivities
Attendees however point out this could be because the overall guest list was kept very limited and the invitations were extended only to a selective few personalities
However when the couple will host more parties, the invitation list could be expanded including many intelligent and rich Indians and PIOs from the inner circle of both celebrities
Among the invitees included Bill Gates and his girlfriend, Oprah Winfrey and Barry Diller to omnipresent cultural forces like the Kardashian and Jenner families.
