In a vibrant celebration of cultural heritage, the DARSHANA: Insight into Hindu Civilisation exhibition opened its doors today at the Glasgow Hindu Mandirs, offering a profound journey into the spiritual, artistic, and scientific contributions of one of the world’s oldest living traditions. Organised by INSIGHT UK, Scotland in collaboration with the Glasgow Om Hindu Mandir, and Mother Earth Hindu Temple the two-day event has drawn diverse crowds, including local Scots, Indian diaspora members, global scholars, and notable dignitaries like ALBA Party politician Prof Dhruva Kumar, MarieClaire McGuinness Councillor Mary Montague, MP Blaire McDougall, Acharya Medinapati, Andrew Lal, MBE Manjulika Singh and many more, all eager to explore Hinduism’s enduring legacy.
The inauguration ceremony saw renowned cultural ambassadors and Chief Guests, deliver an impassioned address. “Hindu Dharma is not merely a faith, it is a vibrant tapestry weaving spirituality, science, philosophy, and culture,” he declared, emphasising its role in fostering global unity. He hailed the exhibition as “a revolutionary effort to illuminate the timeless light of Hindu civilisation for all humanity.”
Attendees are invited to immerse themselves in interactive displays spanning Vedic sciences, Ayurveda, astrology (Jyotish), spirituality (Adhyatma), and ancient Indian architectural models, alongside digital innovations highlighting their modern applications. A standout feature is the digital recreation of Vedic mathematical principles, demonstrating their influence on contemporary technology. The exhibition also spotlights Hindu
contributions to astronomy, environmental sustainability, and holistic medicine.
Professor Kumar praised INSIGHT UK’ and Scotland’s efforts, stating, “This organisation isn’t just curating an exhibition, it’s reviving the heartbeat of our civilisation on a global stage.” He acknowledged the tireless work of Insight Scotland team Rashmi Rai, Puneet Dwivedi, Saurabh Tyagi, Poonam Prajapati, Nishtha Singh, Viral Rajiya, and the entire team, calling the event “a transformative dialogue that transcends the narrow definition of religion, positioning Hindu heritage as a shared legacy of humanity.”
Free and open to all, DARSHANA aligns with Scotland’s growing appreciation for multiculturalism. With over 30,000 Hindus in the UK and surging global interest in Eastern philosophies, the event serves as both an educational platform and a catalyst for interfaith dialogue.

As dusk fell on the mandir’s ornate pillars, visitors lingered over exhibits, their conversations echoing a shared sentiment: understanding the past to inspire a harmonious future.
