On a humid August morning, the grand halls of the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi buzzed with anticipation. Over 300 leaders—representing the best of business, government, and diplomacy—gathered for a singular purpose: to strengthen the industrial bond between India and Germany. The occasion was the IGCC Industry Dialogue 2025, hosted by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), a forum that has become synonymous with high-level collaboration and forward-looking industrial strategies.
A Strategic Beginning
The event opened with a powerful message from Jan Noether, Director General of IGCC, who reminded the audience of the depth of Indo-German ties.
“With nearly 2,000 German firms operating in India, this dialogue isn’t just about trade—it’s about building an industrial future that combines German precision with India’s dynamism,” he declared.
His words set the tone for a day focused on innovation, sustainability, and shared economic vision. Representing the German government, Georg Enzweiler, Chargé d’Affaires at the German Embassy, praised IGCC for creating a platform that went beyond networking, driving real policy conversations and business solutions.

One of the most anticipated sessions, “Unlocking the Green Economy,” tackled the urgent question of sustainability. Industry leaders discussed how India’s push for decarbonisation could align with Germany’s engineering expertise.

The session also featured Stefan Kliesch of KfW Development Bank, who revealed Germany’s expanding financial support for India’s renewable energy ventures—from solar and wind to hydropower. Moderator Clemens Antretter of GIZ tied the discussion together, underscoring how German innovation and India’s market potential could propel global green growth.
Rethinking Logistics for 2030
Another standout discussion, “Beyond Automation: The Strategic Value of Smart Logistics,” explored the future of supply chains in an era of digital transformation.

A Vision for Trade & Policy
The dialogue culminated in a fireside chat between Varda Taneja of FEBI and Jan Noether, which delved into the prospects of an EU-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Taneja noted that such an agreement could lower tariffs, simplify regulations, and unlock new opportunities across green technology, pharmaceuticals, and digital services.
Beyond an Event—A Shared Vision
By the day’s end, the IGCC Industry Dialogue 2025 stood as more than just a networking event. Supported by the German Embassy, GTAI, GIZ, and the Indo-German Energy Forum Support Office, and bolstered by lead partners like EDAG and Phoenix Contact, it reaffirmed a commitment to sustainable industrial growth and technological collaboration.
Corporate contributors including DHL, Infineon Technologies, TÜV SÜD, BMW, Henkel, Rhenus Logistics, and Orafol underscored the breadth of Indo-German cooperation—proof that the partnership is not only thriving but poised to redefine global industrial standards.
