Consulate General of India (CGI) in Seattle, along with Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) hosted the ‘Flavours of Indian Mangoes’ event as part of the Consulate’s trade promotion initiatives. The event offered a mango tasting experience of five different varieties of Indian mangoes, namely Langra, Dussheri, Chausa, Mallika and Totapuri. The list of attendees included leading promoters and selected media from Seattle as well as Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown, State Senator Dhingra and Seattle Port Commissioner Sam Cho as the Guests of Honour. The guests were amazed the delicious taste of the mangoes. The event also involved presentations by industry experts on how “Mango-The King of Fruits” is enjoyed across all the diverse cultures of India as a shared family experience.

In a separate Indian Food Festival and Mango Promotion event hosted in Redmond on the evening of 9 July 2025, another session of mango testing was organised and was attended by the Washington State Representative Alex Ybarra and other leading members of the media and the Indian American community.
In 2024, the export of mangoes from India to the United States saw a 19% growth, confirming its importance as one of the key export markets. Exporters of Indian mangoes met with US Retail representatives to discuss an increase in availability of premium Indian mangoes in the regional market of the US Pacific Northwest.
