India has launched the BHAVYA Portal as part of a major push to accelerate industrial infrastructure development across the country. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal unveiled the platform on June 8, marking a significant step in the implementation of the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA), a flagship initiative aimed at developing 100 world-class industrial parks nationwide.
Approved by the Union Cabinet with an outlay of ₹33,660 crore, the BHAVYA programme seeks to create investment-ready industrial ecosystems over the next six years. The planned industrial parks will feature multimodal connectivity, reliable utility services, digital governance systems, worker-support infrastructure and sustainable development features designed to attract domestic and global investors.

The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), which has been designated as the project management agency for the scheme, developed the BHAVYA Portal to support implementation and monitoring. Officials said the platform will serve as a single digital interface covering the entire project lifecycle, from proposal submission and project appraisal to evaluation and real-time progress tracking.
According to the government, the portal will introduce a transparent and competitive framework for selecting projects under the scheme. It will facilitate the assessment of proposals submitted by states, Union Territories and implementing agencies while improving coordination among stakeholders involved in industrial park development.
The launch follows the release of BHAVYA’s operational guidelines by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in May 2026. Officials described the portal as a crucial step in translating policy objectives into on-ground implementation and speeding up the creation of modern industrial infrastructure.
The launch event was attended by senior government officials, representatives from state governments, financial institutions, export promotion councils, industry associations, master developers and MSMEs. The government expects the initiative to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem, improve ease of doing business and support long-term economic growth through large-scale industrial development.
