In the case of Indian nurse Nimisha Priya, Yemeni authorities have reportedly postponed her execution, which was scheduled for July 16, 2025. According to sources, the Government of India has been actively involved in the matter from the beginning and recently intensified efforts to secure more time for Priya’s family to reach a resolution with the victim’s relatives.
Despite the sensitive nature of the case, Indian officials have maintained regular contact with both the local prison authorities and the prosecutor’s office in Yemen. These diplomatic efforts are believed to have played a key role in the decision to delay the execution.
