In a bizarre case that reads like a political thriller, Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) has busted a fake embassy operation in Ghaziabad, where a man was found impersonating a diplomat from fictitious countries including “West Arctica”, “Saborga”, “Poulvia”, and “Lodonia”.
The accused, Harsh Vardhan Jain, a resident of Kavi Nagar, had set up a so-called diplomatic mission in a rented house, complete with luxury cars bearing fake diplomatic number plates, morphed photos with global leaders, forged passports, and fabricated seals.

According to UP ADG (Law & Order), Jain used the false identity to broker fake job deals, mislead individuals and businesses, and is suspected to be running a hawala network through shell companies. His elaborate scam also included doctored images showing him with the Prime Minister and President to build credibility.
This isn’t Jain’s first brush with the law — he was previously booked in 2011 for possession of an illegal satellite phone.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the fraud and identify potential accomplices.
