Kiara Advani, the star of the upcoming film War 2, has a fascinating heritage that extends far beyond Bollywood. Born Alia Advani, she comes from a multicultural background. While her father is Sindhi, her mother, Genevieve Jaffrey, has a rich mix of Scottish, Irish, Portuguese, and Spanish ancestry. Genevieve’s father hailed from Lucknow, adding further cultural diversity to Kiara’s lineage.
Kiara also has deep ties to Indian cinema. Her maternal grandfather was the brother of veteran actor Sayeed Jaffrey, making him her great-granduncle. Additionally, her step-grandmother Bharti was the daughter of legendary actor Ashok Kumar.
Despite these connections, Kiara has paved her own path in the film industry. A key turning point came when Salman Khan, a close family friend, advised her to change her name from Alia to Kiara to avoid confusion with Alia Bhatt. That decision, she once said, helped her stand out.
On the personal front, Kiara recently embraced motherhood. She and her husband, actor Sidharth Malhotra, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on June 15. The couple announced her arrival through a heartfelt post but have chosen to keep her name private for now.
