Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna-starrer Dhurandhar has crossed the ₹300-crore mark in net box office collections, providing a major boost to the December quarter’s revenues. Even in its second week, theatres in several cities were compelled to add late-night and early-morning shows to meet unprecedented demand.
Trade analysts and cinema owners say the film is now inching toward becoming the biggest hit of the year and may even set a new box office record if the Dhurandhar box office momentum continues. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the spy action thriller’s net collections on the ninth day stood at ₹306.40 crore. With this milestone, Dhurandhar becomes the third film of 2025 to enter the ₹300-crore club, competing directly with some of Hindi cinema’s biggest blockbusters.
Adarsh noted that the Dhurandhar box office trend was strengthened by ₹53.7 crore collected on the second Saturday of its release. Other major performers in the ₹300-crore club this year include Chhaava and Saiyaara.
Kamal Gianchandani, CEO of PVR INOX Pictures and President of the Multiplex Association of India, said the film’s strong box office performance has exceeded exhibitor expectations. He added that with the success of Dhurandhar and a robust upcoming content slate, the December quarter is shaping up to be strong. The sequel to Dhurandhar, slated for a March 19 release, is also expected to lift Q4 performance.
Despite a wide release, cinemas in cities like Mumbai and Pune have added more shows to accommodate demand. Overall occupancy has crossed 50 percent, according to Miraj Entertainment MD, Mahesh Mendiratta.
