During a visit to Bhutan, Indian PM Modi issued a stern warning that the masterminds of the car blast near Delhi’s historic Red Fort will face the full force of the law. The explosion occurred on Monday evening, killing at least eight people and injuring around 20 others, according to officials.
Modi, while addressing a public gathering in Thimphu, said the nation stands with the victims and their families. He emphasized that Indian security agencies will probe the incident thoroughly and pursue those responsible without exception. “Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared,” he declared.
In the capital, investigators have begun examining CCTV footage, tracing vehicle details and analysing forensic evidence, as the case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other anti-terror legislation.
Although no group has yet claimed responsibility, the blast near the Red Fort – where India’s Prime Minister traditionally delivers his Independence Day address – heightens concern over security failures at key national symbols. Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior officials are closely monitoring the situation, while advisories have been issued for enhanced protection at strategic sites.
