Consul General of India to Shanghai Pratik Mathur visited the auto exhibition in China known as Shanghai Auto Show 2025. Mr Mathur also interacted with participants including Indian companies and toured the booths of major Indian companies and their JVs that include Arcelor Mittal and Motherson Sumi.
Auto Shanghai, officially known as the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, is a biennial international automobile show that alternates with the Beijing Auto Show as China’s yearly international automotive exhibition. Indian companies have been participating in this show since last many years.
Before that Mr Mathur had also visited the University of International Business and Economics in Shanghai and interacted with the University leadership and academics on issues of mutual interest.
ABOUT PRATIK MATHUR
Sh. Pratik Mathur is an Indian Foreign Service officer of the 2007 Batch.
He has served as Deputy Secretary in the office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from August 2019-September 2020.
Most recently, he served as Minister(Political) at India’s Mission to the United Nations in New York from September 2020 to December 2024. From 1 January 2021-31 December 2022, Mr. Mathur served as part of the India team representing the country in the UN Security Council.
His previous diplomatic assignments include serving in the Indian Embassies in Washington DC and Beijing, where he served as Staff Assistant to the Ambassador of India as well as the Director of the Indian Culture Centre in Beijing.
Mr. Mathur has also served as Officer in charge of Press Relations (Ministry of External Affairs) as well as Deputy Secretary (Bangladesh-Myanmar) at headquarters in Delhi.
He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Mandarin.
He holds a Masters in Economics degree from the Delhi School of Economics. His hobbies include reading and running.
