Multiple shootings erupted across Canada Sunday night, allegedly carried out by operatives linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, defying the recent “terror group” designation bestowed on them. The attacks were claimed by a figure calling himself Fateh Portugal, who posted videos on social media admitting responsibility.
In his message, Fateh Portugal framed the attacks as targeting “Navi Tesi”, denouncing alleged extortion – but also asserted that honest individuals should not be harassed.
This marks a bold escalation for a gang long associated with transnational crimes, now operating openly despite legal stigma. Canadian authorities are assessing security protocols and investigating cross-border threads in the gang’s operations.
