The echoes of protests against Pahalgam victims of massacre are vibrating worldwide. This time the voices came from North America where Hindus came out in big numbers in Ohio. They came together to demonstrate solidarity with the 26 men brutally murdered by Islamists in Kashmir, simply for their faith. Braving an evening of rain and cold winds, hundreds of residents showed up at a vigil organized by CoHNA’s Cleveland Chapter in partnership with a large number of local Hindu and community organizations.
Even dark clouds, rain, and bitterly cold temperatures could not dampen the resolve of close to 200 Hindus in the larger Minneapolis area, who came out to mourn the darkness of the Pahalgam terror attack. CoHNA’s Minnesota chapter organized a candlelight vigil to stand in solidarity, grieve and resist the sinister act. It was more than a moment of silence — it was a demand for justice, a call for peace, and a promise that the victims will never be forgotten.
Attendees and speakers came together to prepare for the rally and to share their deep pain and trauma. They resolved to remain steadfast in the pursuit for justice and for Dharma, especially as hate against Hindus rises in a number of parts of the globe.
The protests were also supported by CoHNA (Coalition of Hindus of North America) a grassroots level advocacy organization dedicated to improving the understanding of Hinduism in North America and matters impacting the Hindu community.
