BLS International, a company that provides visa and consular services, has been barred by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) from taking part in any new government tenders for the next two years.
The company said this action was taken because of some allegations, court cases, and complaints made by a few applicants. However, it clarified that its current contracts will not be affected and will continue as usual.
In a statement to the stock exchange, BLS International said it is reviewing the order and will take the right legal steps if needed. It also added that it considers this issue a routine matter in the visa outsourcing industry and is confident that it will be resolved soon.
BLS International provides services to 46 governments in 70 countries. Apart from visa and consular work, it also offers digital and financial services, especially in rural areas. Recently, in August 2025, the company received a ₹2,055 crore contract from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to run Aadhaar Seva Kendras across districts in the country.
In FY 2025, the company earned a revenue of ₹2,193 crore, which was 31% higher than the previous year. Its net profit rose by 66%, reaching ₹540 crore. During the first quarter of FY26, Indian Missions accounted for about 12% of total revenue and 8% of profits (EBITDA).
The company said it has been diversifying its business by securing new and renewed contracts with various government and institutional clients. This, it said, has made its business stronger and more stable against regional challenges.
For now, the two-year ban means BLS International cannot bid for new MEA projects, but it will continue to serve its existing clients and contracts. The company says it is confident that it can resolve the issue and move forward.
