This Janmashtami, Bangladesh celebrated not just the birth of Lord Krishna but also the power of unity and mutual respect. Devotees across Dhaka and beyond gathered in temples and streets, weaving together tradition, devotion, and a shared commitment to peace among communities.
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus greeted Hindu community and pledged to safeguard their rights, emphasizing that Lord Krishna’s teachings of compassion, justice, and unity continue to inspire harmony and serve as guiding light for the nation.
“Krishna’s ideals nurture goodwill and strengthen the bonds that connect us all”, Yunus said, underlining Bangladesh’s dedication to maintaining peace and fostering coexistence with deep understanding among its diverse communities.
In Dhaka, a grand central procession drew thousands of devotees, officially inaugurated by the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Organized by the Metropolitan Sarbojonin Puja Committee, Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad, and Shri Shri Dhakeshwari National Temple, the event highlighted the city’s cultural richness and community’s shared spirit of unity.
At the Swamibagh temple, ISKCON Bangladesh inaugurated a three-day festival featuring devotional kirtans and the puja along with ceremonial bathing of Lord Krishna welcoming devotees across the nation, contributing to the festive and spiritual atmosphere.
The celebrations not only honored tradition of Hindu culture but also reinforced the values of compassion, brotherhood, and harmony among its citizens that continue to define the nation and its communal goodwill.
