Asin’s Onam glimpse of daughter Arin has given fans a rare look into the former actor’s private family life, as the eight-year-old took charge of the traditional Pookalam celebrations at home with her father, businessman Rahul Sharma.
Asin shared a series of photographs on her Instagram Stories showing Arin dressed in a bright yellow-and-orange traditional outfit while arranging flowers for the Pookalam, a floral decoration central to Onam celebrations. Marigolds, roses and other colourful flowers were seen spread around her as she worked on the design.
This year, Asin said she stepped back and allowed her daughter to take complete charge of the Pookalam. Rahul Sharma was also seen joining Arin during the preparations, with another picture capturing the father-daughter duo playfully showering each other with flowers.
The Asin Onam glimpse comes as a rare update from an actor who has largely stayed away from the entertainment spotlight since stepping away from films. She has kept her family life private, making occasional social-media posts involving her daughter particularly notable among fans.
Asin began her acting career with the Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001 before becoming a prominent name in South Indian cinema. She made her Hindi film debut opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini in 2008 and later appeared in films including Ready and Housefull 2. Her last film, All Is Well, was released in 2015.
She married Rahul Sharma in 2016, and the couple welcomed Arin in 2017. Since then, Asin has largely focused on family life away from the public eye.
The latest Asin Onam glimpse offered fans a simple festive moment at home, with Arin taking centre stage through a traditional Kerala celebration.
