On July 4 2025, the Ambassador of India to Ireland, H.E. Shri Akhilesh Mishra held a strategic
meeting at the Indian Embassy in Ireland with Mr. Durgesh Tiwari, an IT professional and community
leader living in Dundalk, Ireland. The meeting was aimed at strengthening community relations by
acknowledging Mr. Tiwari’s support for the Indian community in Dundalk, deepening the Embassy’s
connections with the Indian diaspora and reinforcing the Embassy supporting the community
through cultural initiatives, consular services and professional networking.
The meeting was held under the Embassy’s ongoing initiative to form connections with Indian
diaspora leaders in Ireland as the population of the Indian community in Ireland has grown to nearly
95,000 people. There was another meeting held with a similar agenda with Ms. Manisha, a head
coach and her husband, Mr. Akash Tiwari to plan a multi-directional outreach approach.
The Indian Embassy hopes to build community trust and strengthening connections between the
Embassy and the Indian diaspora based in Ireland.
