The Andhra Pradesh government has approved land allocation for the Adani Google data centre AP project, granting 480 acres across Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts for the development of a one gigawatt AI data centre at an investment of Rs 87,520 crore. The project will be led by Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd in partnership with Google and Google Cloud.
The state government said Raiden Infotech India Pvt Ltd, which was originally allotted the land parcels, requested approval for transferring the project to Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd as the primary partner. The government order noted that Raiden and its affiliates, including Google and Google Cloud, remain committed to the data centre plan.
According to officials, the AI hub in Visakhapatnam will involve a five-year investment horizon between 2026 and 2030, and aims to build gigawatt-scale data centre operations supported by a subsea cable network and clean energy sources. The goal is to meet India’s rising AI computing demand and support enterprise infrastructure.
The government said all construction will follow global data centre standards aligned with Google’s infrastructure quality and will meet the commitments made under the Detailed Project Report submitted in August. The project is expected to create a major digital infrastructure anchor for the state and support ecosystem partners.
The Adani Google data centre AP development will be executed with support from partners including AdaniConneX and Airtel. An Adani official said the initiative will be implemented through close collaboration to build advanced data infrastructure for AI computing workloads.
The data centre project aligns with India’s growing AI capacity requirements and reflects increasing interest in large-scale computing facilities in the country.
